Time lapse video of Salk Institute by Louis Khan is our reference. Through analyzing  the time lapse, it reveals the quality and detail of texture, atmosphere, surface articulation, and spatial qualities.

Our animation deals with translation and deformation of patterning and surface subdivision. By using the environmental lighting systems and texture with different articulation, we delineate the surface condition and their relationship with the the rest of the surface division.

The animation is composed of 13 different objects that all stem from one original geometry. A genealogy of symmetry emerges and is further emphasized by the use of reflective material within the scene; round dome around the objects. The output is an immersive transition of objects within objects that uses lights to change the quality of gradients.

Rhythm, one of the important elements of architecture, is explored in this project through the emission and attachment of particles. The initial body is segmented according to the rhythm and scale of the Fibonacci Sequence. And thus, the rhythm of the particles allows new geometries to be created; the simple nature of the torus is transformed into the imaginative body of the klein bottle.
